Sadie Wechsler (Seattle, WA) is an artist working with photography based out of Portland, Oregon. Wechsler received a BA from Bard College in 2007 and an MFA from Yale School of Art in 2013. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally. In the fall of 2021 she was featured in the Boren Banner Series at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, WA. In 2020 Wechsler and Pao Houa Her created a collaborative piece at King Street Station in Seattle, WA. She has been included in group shows at Photography Center Northwest, SAD gallery, Johalla Gallery, Aperture Gallery, Belfast School of Art, Photoville, and Newspace Center for Photography, and has had solo shows at DeSoto Gallery and Gallery4Culture. Wechsler has received the Delivan grant from Bard College, the smArt Ventures Grant from the City of Seattle, Arts3C and Make Learn Build Grants from Reagional Arts & Culture Council. She has been an artist in residence at Anderson Ranch Art Center, the Arctic Circle Expedition and the USCG Healy. Her work can be found in the collections of the Yale University Library, the Hammer Art Museum, the Getty Research Institute, the Frye Art Museam, and the King County Portable Collection. In addition to her art practice Wechsler spends time pruning, caring for and growing the tree canopy of Portland.
